Do you know when Lowe’s ceased selling the toxic drywall? Would drywall purchased Nov 9, 2009 be safe drywall?

I have installed sheetrock[wallboard]made by united states gypsum in my remodeled kitchen,both standard 1/2” and 1/2″ green board,codes 0-8109900027-0 and0-8109902678-2 respectivily–are these part of contaminated drywall or can I move on with my remodel safely?

we’ve had headaches – dizziness – memory problems – coughs – etc that the docs can not figure. I had asked lowes here in TN as one thought and they totally denied any bad drywall every being sold by lowes. now I see different… will replacing the drywall help assuming it is a cause? we are tired of being sick. we’ve had aluminum on doors corrode and fall off – steel doors rust – light fixtures turn black and rust . light fixtures die – replacing lighting every year has gotten old. we figured we have been getting ‘lemons’ now there may be a cause?

has this stuff permeated everything.

If it is determined that my home contains this drywall, would it be in our best interest to hire a lawyer on our own or would it be better to join on of the class action lawsuits?

i live in a habitat home and it started off with my ac coil went out then my tv,stove. i had to purchase all new apliances habitat has not responded back its been over 2 months all they do is send out letters ive left several messages still no one calls me back i even did a insurance claim they told me they do not cover chinese drywall and thats statefarm i will never tell anyone about these homes i wish i could get habitat to buy the home back so i can move elsewhere

I have talked to Lowe’s because I bought drywall from them that may or may not be bad, but I have no idea. Lowe’s won’t tell me anything…

The drywall I installed is Georgia Pacfic drywall. Did they have any of these drywall problems? I haven’t been able to get back in touch with them either and since I installed 50-75 sheets as part of my basement remodel I’m concerned about my house and family’s safety.

I am hoping you can shed more light on this for me.

I have a double wide made by Fairmont Homes in Nappanee, Indiana. It is a 2005 model. Did they use Chinese drywall in their homes?

We had our AC coil replaced the day we moved in on July 2007 (Our very 1st home). Months ago, while on our 3rd coil we investigated as to why this was happening. We have an inspection on Monday, however KB came out and inspected this past week, and has confirmed we do have the defective Chinese Dry Wall. We find ourselves in a tough situation as we have built friendships with some of the people from KB. However – after reading about their contract from news resources and confirmation of this contract this week – we sought an attorney due to some of their non amended stipulations on their contract for remediation, which includes the following:
-They will only cover the new appliances for 1 year (I believe when we bought the home our appliances had a 2 year warranty)
-They are not responsible for your personal property. If your computer goes (not good for me as I am beginning web design and can not lose my files) or television etc. goes, you are responsible.
These are some of the things that we do not agree with, but most importantly our 2 biggest concerns are:
- What about our health long term.What happens if this is an actual serious health issue?
- The depreciation of our house value. Although the home will be rebuilt, how is this going to affect our selling capabilities when we want to sell?

If you are inspecting your home for signs of this defective drywall, look for the following:(These are the affects it has had on our home)

- Have your AC coils been replaced? Check your AC coil – if there is a black substance on this coil – rub it and see if it rubs off on your finger (Like a soot substance)
-Look at your mirrors, do you notice black at the edge and corners of your mirrors or medicine cabinets? Do you notice black tiny spots on the mirror?
-Look at your faucets, is their a black spotted substance?
-Check your door hinges – are they corroded with a black substance?
- Are your drains in your bath tub turning a greenish black? (No it is not mildew)
- Pull out your refrigerator – open the panel at the bottom. Check the copper wire by rubbing your hand on it. Is their a black soot substance on your finger?
- Remove your outlets – are your copper wires black?
I hope this information helps. Hopefully your home is clean and you do not find yourself in our predicament. Good luck to each of you
